#Action by mirillis software
I see a lot of the editing software can do this stuff but not sure to what extent. = PS: I actually want to make a little animated text graphic/logo/intro for my stuff that kind of starts out centered/jumping out at the viewer then it scurries off into a corner as a watermark. Gonna have to get another hardrive for storage too but I've needed to do that for a while anyway. I would probably spend way too much time testing all these programs instead of using one (or two) recording things I'm doing in Sonar.

Nice entry to the Camtasia universe I guess but I've gotta settle in on a cheap free one and get on with it. I was going to go the Jing/Snagit route but yeah. Haven't researched it much but it's another free one. AktivePresenter (or something like that). There's another one that seems to be rather popular. When asked, lie and say Sonar is a game :-) I've tried the following:

If you are on Windows 10 it includes a built-in screen recorder that has good quality sound and a high frame rate. DRanck +1 on VoiceMeeter, needed to record ASIO. I had a copy on disc somewhere but gawd knows where that went.

I figured it would be there ready and waiting but Adobe apparently yanked it and I stupidly did not download it when I had the chance. I am kind of upset that Adobe Premiere 2 is no longer being offered as a free download. Looks like there are some pretty good freeware/donationware ones. Also been poking about at some of the video editors. I don't think anyone is going to expect Hollywood level production values out of me at first (but I can at least go for Bollywood quality. I will likely still get Mirillis at some point because it does seem to produce some better results but I'm just starting out anyway. It will also give me a chance to test out Voicemeeter with various audio programs on my laptop. It does not seem to be quite up to the level of Mirillis but it will do the trick for now and of course that extra $40 can go toward other stuff. I was checking out some info this morning on it and if the free/licensed version strips out the watermark (and it isn't crammed with bullpuckey spyware/malware/adware which I have not seen any reports of) that's great. Wow! Just in your price range beep.Īwesome. We'll see if I still like it as much after using it on a real project.

They also have liteCAM Game which has a 100 fps limit. LiteCAM HD - Works well, 30 fps limit.Corel Screen Recorder - Works great, 30 fps limit (enough for Sonar), incl.MS Expression - Free, works great, but a bit of a pain since you have to do a second step to encode the video.CamStudio - Free, latest version appears to have malware, deleted from system.+1 on VoiceMeeter, needed to record ASIO. PS: I'm sorry if this is in the wrong forum BUT there is a very heavy Sonar component here as in I need to know if it is going to work with Sonar AND this will lead to (hopefully) some nice beginner tuts and tours of Sonar if I can figure it out. I'd really rather have Camtasia but Mirillis is like $40 and Camtasia is $300.

Will I be able to use ASIO mode in Sonar for playback, recording, etc while still being able to record a voice over into the video program or will I be forced to use one of the other driver modes? Maybe there is some kind of workaround? Just want to start trying to understand this type of stuff before I actually have the software so I'm not stuck in front of the computer with a thumb up my butt yelling at clouds. b) I've tried to wrap my head around this before but could never figure it all out. a) if anyone is using Mirillis to record Sonar could they maybe give an opinion on it? If it can record newfangled video games in high quality I figure it should do pretty well with Sonar. so recording stuff like Sonar which is what I'd be using it for). I've recently discovered a highly rated program for recording video games (as well as regular desktop vids.

One of which is screen capture software that I've needed for a loooon time.

I'm on the verge of making a few necessary purchases. Anyone use Mirillis Action for screen recording Sonar? Will I be able to use ASIO?
